Witchburner - "Blasphemic Assault"
Undercover Records (1998)
Witchburner
Genre: Thrash
Similar bands: Sodom, Kreator

Review:
"Blasphemic Assault" was recorded in 1998, but would fit right in with the thrash classics of the mid-80's. Witchburner share in common with fellow thrashers Deceased, a member who handles both drumming and vocal responsibilities. The disc contains ten tracks of barbaric, basic riffing mixed with the throaty vocal screams. Poor production helps the band achieve that true old school feel. If Sodom and Kreator make your head spin, you may be interested in looking these guys up. Their artwork is a bit deceiving though. The cover of this album would make me believe that I was picking up a power metal album rather than some great thrash.

All jokes aside, this band seriously kills. Fans that have given up on metal due to the cheesiness factor that has been injected will fall for this totally. It's sincere, it's most definitely true and there are no frills. It's just long hair, denim jackets and playing your instrument as fast as you can.
