Review:
Philly's grind leaders have finally landed themselves a deal with Too Damn Hype Records which has given them the opportunity to drop "Nothing" on the masses. Sporting a new singer since their demo days, the revamped lineup hit just as hard.

"Nothing" is compromised of eight songs and one re-recorded classic. Without a moment's notice, the album starts off at hyperspeed and doesn't slouch until the final note. Technical grindcore with breakdowns. Half the time Heidnik is playing blast beats or double bass parts, with some of the most insane, backwards, off-timed, mechanical riffing. The other half of the time, you're being absolutely crushed by a breakdown that would cause a riot in an old age home, let alone the dancefloor at a metal show! The new vocalist has a more "hardcore" style rather than the previous guttural death growls, but it fits with the more tech metal direction the band has taken. The production on the disc is infinite times better than the demo, however, the knobs could have been given a few more nudges here are there. It may be my only complaint with the disc, that the music could be a bit louder, causing it to be even more hard-hitting (although if this CD were any more hard-hitting, it may be banned in certain states). And if nothing else, buy "Nothing" for the samples alone. From "Spaceballs" to "Pee Wee Herman's Big Adventure" to "Evil Dead", all the classics are covered.

"Nothing" is sure to please fans of the Relapse Records roster.
