| Three years after their sophomore effort, this bunch of freaks from Down Under bring us another batch of groovy grind via "Cunt". Nineteen of the most humorous, yet brutal songs to ever be layed down on the circular plastic we call compact discs. With song titles including "Bigfatarse", "Ijustfinishedsuckingoffmetalheadsinthemensurinals" and "Atracksuitisnotappropriatemetalapparel", you know that Blood Duster is not very tongue in cheek. And of course, they continue the tradition of having the greatest soundclips ever. But enough about the humor involved, what about the music? You better fuckin believe that Blood Duster bring it in the sound department as well. Extremely brutal blasting grindcore, which up into groovy breakdowns and Southern sludge parts. The vocals are death metal grunts for the most part, but unlike most, the words are actually distinguishable. The drummer is a human metronome set on berzerk. This album is shorter than their previous efforts, clocking in at a bit over thirty-six minutes, however, there are two long noise parts at the end of the disc that eat up a bunch of time. The production duties were handled masterfully as the entire disc is really loud and heavy. Any album you can listen to a hundred times in a row without getting sick of is a masterpiece. This album is a masterpiece. And yes, I actually put it to the test. |
