Review:
I could list pages of bands from Boston, MA. There is something about that city just spawns amazing bands, whether they be hardcore, emo or metal. Bane of Existence is no exception, showing listeners, with merely a 5-song demo, that they are a force to be reckoned with.

I've become tired of the rather stagnant death metal scene in recent times. Almost every band sounds the same, with only a few occassional groups rising to the top. Bane of Existence is one of these groups. In the same vein as Dying Fetus or Malevolent Creation, they hit harder than most with total brutality and extreme breakdowns. There is a groove to their music that most other death metal bands simply can't figure out. The demor "Denounced" would make most hardcore kids flip their lid, as well as make the longest of long hair metalheads go apeshit in the moshpit. Excellent use of sound samples, which haven't already been used a thousand times, and the production for a demo tape is outstanding.

You can check this band out and order their demo at: www.baneofexistence.com and I highly recommend doing so. If bands like this continue to get overlooked while softer metal bands get picked up by labels, something is seriously wrong.
