| Bane have been blowing up since their debut EP back in 1998. They have found themselves to be the leaders of the hardcore scene, along with bands like Poison the Well and American Nightmare. They're the new role models of hardcore, but for some reason, as hard as I try, I just can't understand why. "Give Blood" is my first experience hearing Bane on record, it was all live experiences prior to this. I saw the kids going apeshit, but I just wasn't into them, and I'm not really into the CD either. Turnoff number 1, it's old school. Not my favorite genre. Turnoff number 2, the singer's vocals kill the few times there is actually a good riff. He can't sing worth a damn and his screaming voice is quite nasal. All in all, the disc contains a few cool riffs thrown in amongst typically substandard music. The kids can have this band. I know I sure as hell don't want them. |
